History of the Business Marshall Koral Pro Furniture ServiceA furniture restoration business handed down by four generations. Starting in Europe in 1890, quality craftsmanship runs deep in Marshall Koral's blood. Handed down from grandfather to father, from father to son Marshall learned from the best. Starting out at just 10 years old, he began helping his grandfather and father reupholster, restore antiques, and build custom furniture. Until 1960, Marshall worked in the family business while going to school full-time at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. As the business grew, the company moved from the west side of Chicago to Roger's Park and then settled into the current location in Glenview, IL. Marshall has been working for over 40 years in the company. His grandson-in law, Jim has studied quality craftsmanship and has turned out to be a great asset to family business. Marshall is now 82 years young and still working full-time with the same quality in craftsmanship as his father and grandfather before him. Marshall specializes in antique restoration, furniture repair, reupholstery, refinishing, restoration, caning, and on-site maintenance.
